Rocky Mount native and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brian Goodwin is hosting a free baseball clinic.

The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Rocky Mount High School. The event is open to kids ages 8 to 14.

This is the second annual clinic hosted by Goodwin.

In case of inclement weather, the camp will move to Competitive Edge — the location of last year’s clinic — at 416 Barnum Road, Rocky Mount, NC.

Goodwin is coming off his best year as a pro while playing the most games of his four-year MLB career. The left-handed batting outfielder played in 136 games and batted .262 with a career-high 17 home runs and 47 RBI. He also had career highs in triples (3), doubles (29) and hits (108).

It was his first season playing in L.A. after starting his career with the Washington Nationals, who traded him to the Kansas City Royals in July of 2018. He was claimed off waivers by the Angels ahead of the 2019 season.
