Tarboro remains as consistent as ever.

The Vikings earned a 49-0 win over North Rowan on Friday in Tarboro, as they advanced to the regional round next week with a Class 1-AA state championship game berth on the line.

The top-seeded Vikings, searching for their third consecutive title, still haven’t allowed a point in the playoffs through two wins. They will play No. 2 Edenton Holmes next week.

North Edgecombe 38 Gates County 6

The Warriors (10-3) are into the regional round and one step away from a Class 1-A state championship game berth.

North Edgecombe has now won nine consecutive games and is dominating on both sides of the ball. The six points allowed was the fifth time in the past six games that the Warriors have allowed six points or fewer.

The second-seeded Warriors will host No. 4 Northamptoin County, winners against top-seeded Rosewood. Northampton County finished second in the Tar Roanoke Conference to North Edgecombe.
