Northern Nash senior Kylar Wiggins’ accomplishment through athletics and elsewhere haven’t gone unnoticed.

The NCHSAA announced on Thursday the winners of the Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year. The scholarship provides $750 of support to selected outstanding Black African American, Native American, Alaska Native, Asian American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or Hispanic American student-athletes participating on a sanctioned varsity team at an NCHSAA member school.

Wiggins, a three-sport athlete in basketball, soccer, and track for the Knights, just finished her senior year. Wiggins has excelled as a student and athlete and was named Northern Nash’s most outstanding player for basketball and was also named to the 3-A Big East Conference’s all-conference team.

She also held a spot on the school’s A-Honor Roll list, received the AP Environmental Science medal of achievement, and the NRMPS CTE Academy “Making A Difference” award.

Wiggins holds membership in the National Honor Society, Rocky Mount Area Youth Council, and also finds time to volunteer at UNC Healthcare in Rocky Mount.

Wiggins was one of 14 athletes to win the regional scholarship.
