The N.C. Wesleyan women’s basketball team rallied from a second-half deficit and secured another win, this one coming against visiting Greensboro College in a USA South Conference game on Tuesday.
The Bishops’ 80-68 win over the Pride was their third consecutive victory. It is their second three-game winning streak this season.
The Pride (8-5, 5-2) scored the first two points of the game, then didn’t lead again until 6:56 remained in the third quarter when they took a 40-38 lead. Greensboro would make their best push in the third quarter, pushing the lead to four points on two occasions.
The Pride would take their largest lead of the game at seven points, before NCWC closed the quarter with a game-changing run. The Bishops closed the third quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 57-54 lead into the fourth quarter.
NCWC never trailed again.
Kayla Johnson made four 3-pointers and led the Bishops with a game-high 24 points, while Myrayna Watkins added 15 points and Nyesha Best 13. Kneciya Tripp and Kayrisma Harrison each had 13 rebounds.
