The Bishops lost, 1-0, to No. 11 Washington & Lee University, which advances to the regional semifinal against Gettysburg College on Sunday.
NCWC (16-3-2) was the USA South Conference champions, and finished the season with the most wins since the 2008 season.
The Bishops allowed a second-half goal during Saturday’s game after the teams played to a scoreless first half. Washington & Lee scored the winning goal on a corner kick in the 81st minute.
NCWC couldn’t find the tying goal over the next nine minutes. Goalkeeper Tobias Borzel, who was named the USA South tournament’s MVP, made two saves. Juniors Baboucarr Nijie and Dom Giovannini each led the Bishops with two shots on goal apiece.
