Shoppers arriving at Golden East Crossing mall are going to find stores either closed or operating on reduced hours due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mall officials, in a statement posted on the internet, said the shopping center now is operating from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
The signs at Golden East’s entrances had said the shopping center previously had been open until 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
The shopping center’s hours from 1-6 p.m. on Sundays remain the same.
A Telegram reporter on Wednesday afternoon walked throughout the mall and found stores having closed until further notice, including Belk, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker and Victoria’s Secret.
Golden East officials advised people wanting to go to retail outlets or restaurants to first go online to https://www.goldeneastcrossing.com/, click on the mall directory and then phone those respective locations to find out whether they are open or to check their operating hours.
The children’s play area in the shopping center also is closed for now.
Golden East officials also said the shopping center’s operating partner has decided to cancel the Easter bunny experience.
Golden East officials also said marketing programs and events, including group mall walking, are suspended until further notice.
Golden East officials said anyone needing mobility assistance should plan to bring their own strollers and wheelchairs because rentals of strollers and wheelchairs have been suspended for now.
