Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is scheduled to speak at a fundraising dinner for the Nash County Republican Party on Dec. 2 at Nash Community College.

Robinson, 53, is the state’s first Black lieutenant governor who is considering running for governor in 2024. A Greensboro native and U.S. Army veteran, he was elected to the state’s No. 2 post in 2020.

He drew national attention in 2018 after he delivered an emphatic speech defending the 2nd Amendment to the Greensboro City Council that went viral, garnering more than 200 million online views to date.

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium at 522 N. Old Carriage Road. The dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. and tickets cost $25 per person. Dinner will be provided by Gardner’s Barbecue Restaurant.
