A family fracas Wednesday evening in the middle of a road in Nash County has led to multiple charges and a trip to the emergency room.
Platoon C members of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office responded about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday to the 1400 block of Lindsay Road in response to a report of someone being struck by a motor vehicle. They arrived to find Matthew Aaron Craven and Michael Andrew Craven fighting in the middle of the road.
The driver of the car, Michael Craven, then left the scene and drove to the 5600 block of Sandy Lane.
After an investigation, deputies pieced together that Matthew Craven had allegedly hit his mother, Lisa Craven, and walked down Lindsay Road. Michael Craven then reportedly struck his brother Matthew with his car.
The assault resulted in Matthew being transported to Nash UNC Health Care, Nash County Chief Deputy Brandon Medina said in response to questions about the incident. Matthew Craven’s current condition is unknown.
Matthew Craven is being charged with assault on a female while Michael Craven is being charged with assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, Medina said.
Less than an ounce of marijuana was found at the scene, though it is not clear if charges of possession will be filed against any member of the family.
