A man with a prior state record has been ordered to serve seven years and eight months in federal prison for his role in committing a gunpoint robbery of the Alcoholic Beverage Control store along Westwood Drive in the Cedar Brook area of the city more than two years and 10 months ago.

Jesse Jenkins, 30, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Louise Flanagan in New Bern. Flanagan also ordered Jenkins to make slightly more than $3,372 in restitution and pay a $100 special assessment.
