A man was killed in a shooting late Wednesday night along Park Avenue north to northeast of East Thomas Street and in the southern part of the Holly Street area, police said.

Lakendrick Powell, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, police Sgt. Thomas Meadows said late Thursday morning in a news release.
