Bulluck Furniture will host Vietri Inc. founder and CEO Susan Gravely during a special event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct 30 in the store at 124 S. Church St. in downtown Rocky Mount.
For nearly 40 years, Vietri has provided high-quality, handcrafted products for homes and gardens that encourage the essence of the Italian lifestyle. The Vietri brand includes collaborative designs from the best of Italian culture in ceramics, glassware, flatware and table linens.
A connoisseur of Italian culture and tabletop style, Susan, with her sister, Frances, and mother, Lee, founded Vietri in 1983 after a family trip to the Amalfi Coast where they fell in love with the colorful hand-painted dinnerware at the Il San Pietro Hotel.
Vietri has grown from a small company representing one Italian factory to the largest Italian importing company in the American tabletop industry. Vietri now serves a customer base of over 2,000 top specialty stores in all 50 states and internationally.
Vietri partners with over 40 manufacturers throughout Italy, where master artisans create products in ceramic, glass, metal and textiles. Many artisans are from multiple generations of skilled master craftsmen.
Vietri’s handcrafted Italian products are regularly seen in most major home, gourmet, fashion and style magazines in America as the pick of editors for style, color, pattern, and craftsmanship. Vietri is regularly featured in countless American magazines including Domino, Southern Lady, House Beautiful, Oprah, Elle Décor, Martha Stewart Weddings and Coastal Living.
Vietri won the ARTS Award for Excellence in Tabletop in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2018 and has been inducted into the ARTS Award Hall of Fame.
Vietri has been named one of the top 40 Family Friendly companies for its commitment to creating a family-friendly environment for all employees and is active with many local non-profit organizations. Vietri gives back to local organizations including Habitat for Humanity and the Compass Center.
