The Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Foundation recently donated $100,000 to 13 local nonprofit organizations and government agencies from Edgecombe, Nash and Martin Counties during a celebration at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital.
Local businesses were selected through the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Community Benefits Program. This program supports projects in health related focus areas: Access to Care, Chronic Disease and Prevention Management and Mental Health and Substance Abuse, which were identified in the 2016 community health needs assessment. The program grant cycle period is July 1 to July 30, 2020.
Only government agencies or nonprofit organizations with 501(c)3 status are eligible for funding.
Organizations that received grant funding include the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region, CareNet Counseling East, Down East Partnership for Children, Edgecombe County Extension Center, Edgecombe County Health Department, Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office C.O.R.E Coalition, NC MedAssist, Rocky Mount Opportunities Industrialization Center, Harrison Family YMCA, VOICE/Community Medicine Foundation, West Martin Community Center, Area L AHEC and Christian Fellowship Home.
