Oratorical Contest

Nash Central High School student Chassidy Armwood won first place and Rocky Mount Academy student Mckenna Rowe won second place in the recent Blackbird Optimist Club of Rocky Mount oratorical contest based on the theme of “Discovering Optimism Within Me.”

Armwood was awarded $100 for the first place honor. In addition, Armwood and Rowe will be sent to the zone level where they will compete against winners from other Optimist Clubs in the area.
