Vera Morris recently was appointed to be United States of America’s Ms. North Carolina 2021.

As a state representative of North Carolina, she will have the opportunity to compete for the prestigious title of United States of America’s Ms. 2021 on Feb. 25-28, 2021, at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

“After winning Miss North Carolina USA 1998, I never thought that I would ever compete again, despite wanting to in my heart,” Morris said. “I took that leap of faith and competed in the Miss North Carolina for America 2020 pageant in August and placed second runner-up. So I was blessed with the opportunity to represent the state of North Carolina.”

The United States of America Pageants are designed to encourage women to strive to achieve their hopes, dreams, goals, and aspirations while making them feel confident and beautiful inside and out. Its motto is to empower women, inspire others and uplift everyone.

“I foresee this opportunity for me to further enhance my platform, ‘Detect Yourself to Protect Yourself: Early Detection for Breast Cancer Prevention,’” Morris said. “I want to use my voice to educate women from around the country about the importance of self-breast examinations and scheduling mammograms. Early detection is key to living breast cancer free. I am currently working with Susan G. Komen as an ambassador and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer as an honorary chairperson for the Charlotte, North Carolina, chapter.”
