Knight, et al., Defendants. Under and by virtue of a Judgment made and entered into in the District Court of Edgecombe County on October 26, 2020 in the action entitled "Edgecombe County vs. James L. Knight, et al., 20-CVD-281" the undersigned commissioner will on the 2nd day of December, 2020, offer for sale and sell for cash, to the last and highest bidder at public auction, at the courthouse door in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, in Tarboro, North Carolina at 12:00 noon the following described real property, lying and being in One Township, Edgecombe County, North Carolina and more particularly described as follows: COMMONLY KNOWN as 101 Strickland Drive, Town of Princeville, Number One Township, Edgecombe County, North Carolina, having Tax Parcel # 4748-31-3221-00, and being more particularly described as follows: BEING all of that tract of land known as Lot 16, as shown on map entitled "Final Plat, Section 1, Southern Terrace, Property of R. C. Harris, Jr. & W. V. Leggett, Located in No. 1 Twp. Edgecombe Co., N.C., Survey & Map by Irvin A. Staton, R.L.S., Tarboro, N.C. Date Dec. 28, 1968, Scale 1" - 100', Map Revised Dec. 16, 1969." Said Map is recorded in Map Book 14, Page 38, Edgecombe County Registry, and said map being fully incorporated herein as part of this description. AND BEING the identical property conveyed by William V. Leggett and wife, Margaret Y. Leggett to Herman Knight and wife Susie L. Knight by Deed dated May 18, 1970 and recorded in Book 769, Page 469. This conveyance is subject to the restrictive covenants listed in said Deed. The said Herman Knight predeceased Susie L. Knight leaving her the sole tenant by the entirety. Susie L. Knight died on July 25, 2004, leaving a Last Will and Testament filed in the Office of the Clerk of Court in File No. 05-E-228. Article Two of said Will devised all of her property in five equal shares among her children, James Luther Knight, Shirley Knight Battle, Debra Ann Cofield, Mandy Lou Anthony and the two issue of her daughter Claretha Knight Staton (Rhonda Staton Brown and Duane Staton). In Article Four she devised a life estate in this property to her daughter Mandy Lou Anthony with the remainder to the beneficiaries named in Article Two. The said Mandy Lou Anthony died on October 29, 2019 and according to the documents in the Office of the Clerk of Court in file No. 19-E-815, she was survived by two children, Monique Anthony and Milton P. Anthony. The undersigned Commissioner makes no warranties in connection with this property and specifically disclaims any warranties as to title and habitability. This property is being sold as-is, without opinion as to title or any other matter. The sale will be made subject to all outstanding city and county taxes and all local improvement assessments against the above-described property not included in the judgment in the above-entitled cause.
