Southeastern Freight helps Scouts

Southeastern Freight Lines recently hosted a group of 23 Boy Scouts from Troop 587 who were studying for their transportation merit badge.

The Feb. 20 program covered basic trucking and transporation-management skills. It also included an overview of day-to-day operations of Southeastern’s station and a tour of the facility and its shop. At the end of the day, 15 of the Scouts completed the merit badge’s 10 requirements.

The program was taught by James Tolston, a driver, and Robert Bone, a safety official.

The troop is sponsored by the West Edgecombe Ruritan Club.

Southeastern Freight Lines is headquartered in Lexington, S.C. For information, go to sefl.com.
