If you feel inspired to travel through northern Australia after watching the new movie “Australia,” packages are available for next year. Orion Expedition Cruises (www.orionexpeditions.com) is offering 7-to-11-day sailings that visit Broome, the Kimberley Coast and Arnhem Land. Prices start at 8,430 Australian dollars a person, $5,320, at 1.61 Australian dollars to the U.S. dollar, double occupancy.

Intrepid Travel is offering a 10-day tour from Broome to Darwin, which includes visits to the Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek national parks. Tours start at $3,490 per person and include lodging, ground transportation, and most meals (www.intrepidtravel.com/trips/PAA). There is also a three-day cattle droving tour in South Australia sponsored by the Prairie Hotel. Some riding experience is required. Prices start at 3,795 Australian dollars a person, and include lodging, meals and wine (www.prairiehotel.com.au).

For those who want a longer trip, there is a 17-day tour to the Northern Territory by Aspire Down Under. It starts at $5,235 a person and includes air fare, lodging and the Ghan train to Darwin, left. (Information: www.aspiredownunder.com/packages-australia-movie.htm.)
