Third suspect arrested in Nashville home invasion

Authorities have arrested a third individual suspected of committing a Sunday night home invasion.

Gregory Devonte Robertson, 18, of Rocky Mount was charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count each of first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Tony Marichal Sharp and Byron Dale Whitaker were arrested Wednesday while Robertson was charged Thursday. All three suspects were jailed in Nash County under $500,000 secured bonds.

Nash County Sheriff’s Capt. Pat Joyner said the suspects forced their way into a home Sunday night on the 3800 block of Old White Oak Road in Nashville. Authorities said the suspects shot a 21-year-old man twice and raped the man’s 28-year-old girlfriend. A 6-year-old girl also was in the home at the time of the attack, but was not injured.

Joyner said the investigation into the robbery is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s department at 459-4121.
