Three arrested on drug charges

Authorities arrested three suspected drug traffickers and seized drugs in an investigation that culminated June 3.

Tarboro police Sgt. Al Braxton said officers were investigating reports of drug activity at a house on the 1100 block of Albemarle Avenue when a search warrant was executed and officers seized 76 dosage units of Oxycodone.

Darin Alfonso Everette and Rodrick Leon Hyman, of Tarboro and Katrina McDowell of Speed were charged with two counts of trafficking opium or heroin, conspiracy to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance. Everette, 27, was jailed in Edgecombe County under a $20,000 secured bond. Hyman and McDowell – both 30 years old – were jailed in Edgecombe County under a $2,000 secured bond.

In a separate case, two Rocky Mount men and a Pinetops woman were apprehended in a marijuana investigation where more than three ounces of the controlled substance were seized.

Ebony Sharice Draughn, 25, Travis Jonta Harvey and Jeremi Lorenza Parker – both 22 years old – were charged with promoting drug sales by a minor, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or deliver, felony possession of marijuana and conspiracy to sell marijuana.

All three were jailed in Edgecombe County under $300,000 secured bonds.
