N.C. State student newspaper can't find an editor

RALEIGH — The student newspaper at N.C. State University is having trouble finding an editor.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that N.C. State’s student newspaper, the Technician, ran an editorial Wednesday asking students to help “regardless of age or experience.”

An editor who wrote that editorial says the paper’s top editor was suspended and the managing editor quit to take an internship.

The Student Media Board of Directors was supposed to hire a new Technician editor Tuesday, but no one applied. So the board appointed a committee to make recommendations on the newspaper’s future. Student body president Jim Ceresnak says he doesn’t want the newspaper to close.

The committee hopes to make recommendations to make the top job more attractive, including a reduction in the amount of time required.
