The Rocky Mount National Little League All Stars have won their first two contests in the state championship playoffs in Shelby.
The defending champs defeated Hickory 8-5 on Thursday, with pitcher David Williams logging the win for the All Stars. Chase Rupp went 2-for-3 with seven RBI. Rupp slammed two home runs, including a grand slam. Luke Roberson also went 2-for-3.
The All Stars came back from a 5-1 deficit to win Friday over Siler City. A two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth produced six runs for the All Stars, including a grand slam by Tyler Barrow, who went 2-for4 with five RBI. Winning pitcher Kahlil Macklin went 3-for-4 in the 7-5 victory.
The All Stars next play Shelby on Saturday.
