FIVE TEAMS TO WATCH
ROCKY MOUNT HIGH: The three-time defending NEW 6 Conference Tournament champions made their deepest playoffs run last season.
They return a solid nucleus of players, but will have to replace two-time Telegram All-Area Player of the Year Rashida Davison.
NORTHERN NASH: The Knights finished third in the NEW 6 last season, but area coaches believe Northern Nash could have a special squad. The Knights return the core of their team.
NASH CENTRAL: This season's edition of the Bulldogs is a mix of youth and experience. Coach Gary Smith said the team will be strong at the net, but needs to consistently hit the ball well.
FAITH CHRISTIAN: Coach Eric Summerlin's squad lost four seniors from last season's squad, but he said this group is one of the taller and more talented teams he has coached.
ROCKY MOUNT ACADEMY: Five seniors return to the Eagles' squad. Coach Joanna Stegall's team has depth at the setter position and several solid hitters up front.
