ALL-AREA FIRST TEAM

J’KYRA BROWN, JR., F, ROCKY MOUNT HIGH: Brown led Rocky Mount in scoring, assists and steals and paced the Gryphons to Big East chapionship and the 3-A East Regional Finals. The do-everything forward is headed to East Carolina for college, but only after another year at Rocky Mount.

ALEXUS COOPER, SR., G, ROCKY MOUNT HIGH: As the Gryphons’ primary ball-handler and another scoring threat, Cooper was Rocky Mount’s highest-scoring guard. She scored in double digits 15 times, and was third on the team in assists.

JASMINE GRIFFIN, JR., C, NORTHERN NASH: Griffin has excellent skill around the rim – and not just for a player of her size. The most dominant post player in the Twin Counties, Griffin led the team in rebounds and blocks, and finished second in scoring.

ALEXUS HILL, SO., G, NORTHERN NASH: Hill’s ability to score always presents a danger to opposing team. She led the Knights in scoring in her sophomore year with her ability to shoot and fearlessness driving to the basket.

TIA HUDGINS, SR., F, ROCKY MOUNT HIGH: Hudgins surpassed 1,000 points in her senior year, in which she averaged nearly 14 points per game and shot 51 percent from the field. Giving up size in most cases, Hudgins still averaged more than eight rebounds per game.
