A Wilson man was charged Monday in connection with the rape of a Rocky Mount woman.

Darrin Taylor, 45, was charged with felony counts of second-degree rape and crime against nature. Taylor was jailed in Edgecombe County under a $25,000 secured bond.

Rocky Mount police said a 32-year-old woman called police Monday morning to report she’d been sexually assaulted at a house on the 1100 block of Hunter Street. According to police reports, the victim was an acquaintance of Taylor, who was found by police a short distance from the scene and taken into custody. The victim was treated and released from Nash General Hospital.
