Two wounded in unrelated shootings

Two men were treated at Nash General Hospital Thursday after being wounded in separate shootings.

According to police reports, a 19-year-old man was walking around 5 p.m. on the 300 block of North Howell Street when he heard a gunshot and realized he’d been shot in his foot. The victim fled to his girlfriend’s house and was taken to the hospital. No description of the shooter was available.

Rocky Mount police responded to another shooting around 10:30 p.m. on the 400 block of East Virginia Street where a 25-year-old man was shot in the hand. Authorities said the victim had played basketball with his 17-year-old brother and were driving on the 400 block of East Virginia Street when shots were fired at the vehicle and the driver was wounded. No description of the shooter was available.
