Two men sought for assault, robbery at gas station

Rocky Mount police are searching for two men suspected of assaulting and robbing a man early Thursday morning.

The incident reportedly happened shortly before 1 a.m. while a 23-year-old man from the Battleboro community was pumping gas at the EP Mart on the 1200 block of East Raleigh Boulevard. The victim told police he was approached by two men who physically assaulted him and then stole $50 from his pocket. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are described as black men, between 20 and 25 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 and weighing between 150 and 200 pounds. One of the suspects reportedly had dreadlocks. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
