Nash County sheriff’s deputies arrested two Sharpsburg men Wednesday in connection with a weekend home invasion.
Tony Marichal Sharp, 19, and Byron Dale Whitaker, 21, were charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Authorities said Sharp, Whitaker and one other suspect forced their way into a home Sunday night on the 3800 block of Old White Oak Road in Nashville. Nash County Capt. A 6-year-old girl also was in the home at the time of the attack but was not injured.
The man was treated at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The woman was treated and released from Nash General Hospital.
Joyner said the investigation into the robbery is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s department at 459-4121.
