Nash County deputies seized 40 Hydrocodone pills Saturday after receiving a tip about a 27-year-old man traveling with prescription pills in the area of Pace Road in Bailey.
Deputies located and stopped the vehicle, which was driven by Adam Jones. According to police reports, when they walked up to the passenger side where Timothy Brad Watson was sitting, deputies located a bag of pills outside the vehicle, on the ground. They seized the bag and detained Watson.
Watson reportedly told officers he threw another bag of pills on the ground, which deputies later found.
Watson was charged with trafficking an opium derivative and placed in the Nash County jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies found a marijuana pipe in the seat of his vehicle.
