Police arrested three teenagers and continue to investigate a Sunday morning armed robbery in Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
Authorities said a 20-year-old man was walking through the park when he was approached by the suspects who threatened him at gunpoint and fled with his cellphone and money. The victim was not injured.
Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said three unidentified 15-year-old suspects – one male and two females – were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. The male was confined to a juvenile detention facility in Pitt County while the females were released to guardians.
