Teenager wounded in shooting

Authorities said a Rocky Mount teenager was hospitalized following a Sunday night shooting.

According to police reports, an 18-year-old man was wounded shortly before 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Dollar General on the 1000 block of West Raleigh Boulevard. The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he is listed in serious condition.

Rocky Mount police said it unclear what led to the shooting, but asked anyone who might have seen anything suspicious to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
