Student charged with bringing knife to school

A teen was cited Friday after authorities found a knife in his bag at Rocky Mount High School.

Police said the school resource officer was contacted by the assistant principal about a student with a weapon. The officer reportedly searched the teen’s possessions and found the knife in his bookbag.

Barry Sutton, 17, was cited for possession of a weapon on school grounds.
