Two Edgecombe County men were arrested in connection with accepting stolen property to sell in a Tarboro store.
Ali Ahmed Almontaser, 27, of Tarboro and Treven Marqui Parker, 21, of Princeville were charged with receiving goods represented as stolen, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property under false pretenses, possession of marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for the storage of a controlled substance. Both were issued $2,000 unsecured bonds.
Edgecombe County authorities said officers executed a search warrant on July 25 at the 252 store at Riverside Plaza in Tarboro in reference to stolen property and drug complaints. A search of the store and the suspects’ vehicles led to the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and property sold to the store after being represented to the store as stolen.
