Shooting wounds man at supermarket

A 19-year-old was treated and released from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after being shot Saturday afternoon.

Rocky Mount police officers responded around 4 p.m. to Midtown Supermarket at 901 W. Thomas Street after the owner reported a man had been shot multiple times. Police said the victim got into an argument at the store before he was shot. The victim was taken to Nash General Hospital and flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Officials said the shooting is under investigation and detectives are following leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
