Rocky Mount police responding to a shooting arrested a suspected drug dealer early Saturday morning.

Telemachus Tremail Watson, 31, was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver, possession of cocaine and served with outstanding warrants. Watson was jailed in Nash County without bond.

Police said officers responded around 1 a.m. Saturday to shots fired on the 1100 block of Westwood Drive, but they said they saw a vehicle described by a caller and stopped the driver. The vehicle was searched and 5.03 grams of marijuana and 13.93 grams of cocaine were seized. According to police reports, Watson was not charged in connection with the shooting, which did not cause any damage or injuries.
