Nash County Sheriff’s deputies have removed a 54-year-old man from their Top Ten Most Wanted Subject’s list after officials with the U.S. Marshal Service located the man in Florida.

Mark Allen Johnson has avoided authorities since 2005 when deputies obtained warrants against him for failing to register as a sex offender, police reports indicate. Investigators reportedly received information indicating Johnson was living in Clearwater, Fla., and subsequently contacted the area’s Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, which was able to locate the suspect and arrest him. He is awaiting extradition.

Johnson was convicted in Wake County of felony indecent liberties with a child in 1998.
