Rocky Mount men charged with Greensboro fraud

The Greensboro Police Department has charged two Rocky Mount men after investigating an alleged home repair scam that exploited on a 91-year-old woman.

According to reports, Cedric Renwood Pierce, 57, and Randall Scott Weeks, 38, told the woman they could repair damage to her chimney for $15, but then they tore a hole in her roof stating that the damage was worse than they originally believed and that the cost would be $1,200.

Both men were charged with fraud. Pierce also was charged with exploitation of the elderly, malicious damage and obtaining property by false pretense.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with similar complaints is asked to call the authorities.
