Police are hoping that images from a security camera released Tuesday will help catch a thief who shoplifted $286 worth of aspirin from a gas station.

Authorities said the suspect entered the Wilco-Hess at 737 English Road late Sunday night then stole 72 packages of BC Powder before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 50s, wearing dark shoes, tan pants, a tan or white jacket with a dark stripe on the back, red lining and a red collar. The suspect also has a thick mustache and prescription glasses. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
