Police seek teens in armed robbery

Rocky Mount police are searching for four teens suspected of robbing and shooting at a Roanoke Rapids man.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday on the 500 block of North Taylor Street when a 45-year-old man was at a house and he was jumped by four suspects. The assailants threatened him with handguns and stole his cellphone and money before the victim was able to escape. The suspects reportedly fired several shots at the victim as he was fleeing, but he was not wounded.

The suspects – who are described as four black male teenagers – reportedly ran toward Duke Circle and eluded officers who were tracking them. The victim was treated and released from Nash General Hospital for a laceration.
