A Rocky Mount man was not injured Monday morning when he allegedly was robbed at gunpoint.

Police said a 52-year-old man was walking behind a building on the 500 block of South Washington Street when he was approached by a gunman who demanded his cellphone, money and cigarettes before running away.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall black man with a medium build, in his early 30s with a mustache and wearing a light blue short sleeve shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
