Police seek suspects in teen's assault, robbery

A Rocky Mount teenager was not seriously injured Thursday when he was assaulted and robbed.

According to police reports, an 18-year-old man was walking to a friend’s house around 7:30 p.m. on the 300 block of North Holder Drive when he noticed two suspicious men nearby. One of the suspects reportedly ran up behind the suspect, knocked him in the head and caused the victim to drop his backpack. The suspect reportedly grabbed the backpack filled with clothes, shoes and a laptop then fled the scene with the other suspect.

One suspect is described as a light-skinned black man with short hair and wearing a white tank top. The second suspect was described as a dark-skinned black man riding a blue BMX bicycle. Both suspects are believed to be between 17 and 23 years old. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
