Police seek suspects in convenience store robbery

No one was injured late Wednesday night when two men reportedly robbed a local convenience store.

Officials said the incident happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. at the Kangaroo Express on the 1800 block of North Wesleyan Boulevard. According to police reports, two gunmen entered the store, threatened multiple people with handguns then stole cigarettes, money and a cellphone from the store as well as people in the store. The suspects ran south from the store, and officers attempted a K-9 track of the robbers, but it was unsuccessful.

One suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 black man in his early 20s, weighing about 125 pounds with a light build and wearing a white T-shirt and shorts. The second suspect is described as a 5-foot-9 black man in his early 20s, weighing about 150 pounds and wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
