Rocky Mount Police are searching for man suspected of robbing the Walmart in the 1500 block of Bevenue Road.

The robbery occurred around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday when an unknown suspect entered the building and robbed a clerk, police said.

No one was injured, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing large frame sunglasses, a dark blue Duke T-shirt and blue jeans with a white hoodie on his head, is described as black man in his 20s, around 5’10 to 6’00 in height and weighing 150 to 170 pounds, police said, with a beard.

The suspect may also be involved with several other robberies that have occurred at other Walmarts around Wake County during the past month, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 972-1411, Detective Parker at 972-1459 or 822-2775 or Twin County Crime Stoppers at 977-1111.

Report a Little More

A little more information would be helpful. Did no one witness him leaving the store? Did he leave on foot, on a bicycle, car, truck, etc? Did the suspect brandish or imply a weapon? A better than usual photo, however. No one who knows this person would have any doubt as to who he is - so step up and do the right thing. It is possible, however, that this was a transient crime given the closeness to US 64 and I-95. Kudos to the Telegram, at least in this case, for not applying the Red T of anonymity in the case of a request for public assistance.
