Rocky Mount police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a 36-year-old Friday morning at a local hotel.

According to police reports, the victim was entering the Motel 6 at 1370 North Wesleyan Blvd. when he was approached by a gunman. The suspect reportedly threatened the victim with a handgun before fleeing with the victim’s cellphone and money. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
