Police are investigating a Monday night purse snatching at the Food Lion on Gold Rock Road.

According to police reports, a 30-year-old woman parked her car and was walking into the store when a man passed her and snatched her purse from her arm. The woman reportedly chased the man but lost sight of him and called police. She was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-tall black man with a light build, weighing between 120 and 140 pounds and between 25 and 30 years old. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
