A 73-year-old man is recovering after being injured Monday during a robbery.
Authorities said the victim was in his vehicle around 11:20 p.m. on the 2100 block of South Church Street when he was approached by a suspect who threatened him with a handgun. The assailant reportedly assaulted the victim then fled with $2 and the victim’s cellphone.
The victim went to Nash General Hospital, where he was treated and released. The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s with a small frame, wearing a gray T-shirt, dark-colored clothes and a bandana around his face.
