Police seek suspect in convenience store break-in

Rocky Mount police are searching for a man suspected of breaking into a local convenience store and fleeing with pilfered cigarettes.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday when officers responded to a break-in at Kangaroo Express on the 400 block of West Thomas Street. Authorities discovered a man had entered the store after breaking two front doors, stole some cigarettes from the store then took off running on Grace Street.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 white man with a slim build with short blonde hair in his early twenties. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
