Police seek suspect in car theft

Authorities are searching for a man suspected of stealing a car then wrecking it within a block of the owner’s house.

According to police reports, a 62-year-old man called police Wednesday night to report his 2000 Buick had been stolen, which he realized when he saw the vehicle crashed. Police said the driver had hit a curb, driven off the roadway and hit a group of trees on the 1600 block of Charter Drive before fleeing the scene.
