A 37-year-old woman is in stable condition after being stabbed by her ex-boyfriend around 3 a.m. Monday, police said.
According to police reports, the victim was at a house on the 200 block of South Grace Street when her ex-boyfriend, Keith Lamont Burston, 37, came into the house without permission, argued with the victim and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to Nash General Hospital then flown to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She is listed in stable condition.
Police obtained warrants against Burston for assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. Anyone with information on Burston’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or email@example.com.
Burston has a history of assault on a female, communicating threats, child abuse, larceny and drug convictions, according to the N.C. Department of Correction website.
