A 26-year-old man was hospitalized after a Monday night shooting and the suspect is on the run from police.

Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said officers responded around 6:20 p.m. to a shooting on the 1700 block of Windsor Drive and the victim already had been taken to Nash General Hospital. The victim was later transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said the victim got into an altercation earlier Monday with Tron Davis, and Davis sought his revenge while the victim was at the house on Windsor. Officers have obtained warrants against Davis, 31, for attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.

I have known this young man for many years, he is a deeply religious man and I feel surely that this mistake was just that - a mistake. God is forgiving and He will see that Kelvin will survive this.
