Police seek more details in stabbing death

Rocky Mount police are investigating a Wednesday night stabbing that led to a man’s death.

Arthur Stuart Galloway, 61, reportedly was the victim in a domestic aggravated assault with his 47-year-old girlfriend that was reported to police shortly before 8 p.m. at a house on the 1500 block of Sunset Avenue. Responding officers found the victim with a stab wound and he was transported to Nash General Hospital then transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he died.

It is unclear what led to the dispute, but charges have not been filed.
